ON SELF RELIANCE PT 4

Alot of us don't try new things but do what we are used to do A foolish consistency is hobgoblin of little mind. What it means is people who aren't that smart don't try something else. To be great is to be misunderstood. Emerson says to have your ideas and who cares if others don't understand them

ON SELF RELIANCE PT 3

Most people that don't try because they are afraid of not being accepted.

ON SELF-RELIANCE PART 2

You never know what you can do unless you try it. People choose where they put the effort or the attention "The nonchalance of boys who are sure of a dinner, and would disdain as much as a lord to do or aught to conciliate one, is the healthy attitude of human nature." We don't say whats on our minds when called upon we just sit there and say F in our heads.

FIRST IMPRESSION:ON-SELFRELIANCE

My first impression is that it has a strong epilogue, the part about our actions being angels good or ill was powerful. He also mentioned that we need to learn to appreciate ourselves more and say whats on our minds. When he mentioned imitation is suicide to me it meant that people that try to be like others basically kill there personality's to fit in with others and that to get better at something you need to work on it just like in everything else in life.

notes from on self reliance

Our acts angels are, or good or ill To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men-that is genius.

LET ME WALK YOU THROUGH THE PEDESTRAIN

Have you ever read the story of The Pedestrain? I will focus on 3 topics, and they are tone, character, and plot of the story. Bradbury went for a night walk and was stopped by an officer of the law. During those times it was weird to walk at night especially during the winter months.     The tone of this story was lonely, sad and emotional, in a way scary as well. It was lonely because he walked byhimself and saidhi to every house he walked by. He would see blue light flashing and after those lights he would see a gray figure watching/staring at the blueish lights. What he meant by the flashing lights was the television. The story was a bit scary for bradbury. when the officer stopped him bradbury was scared ,intimitated, and nervous like a normal person would feel. The officer asked bradbury many questions which he had answers for. At the end ofthe story bradbury was told to get in the police car andthe [olice car took bradbury to a hospital.      The second topic is character.
